The Dream Foundation is a statewide 501 ( c) 3 organization founded in 2001 around the creation of the "Live The Dream "specialty license plate. Being a tax exempt charity under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c) (3) , 100 % of all contributions or donations are tax deductible under IRC section 170. The Dream Foundation , under its exempt status can also receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522. And, its the only statewide organization with its core mission being the promotion of Dr. Kings legacy and his teachings.
The Florida "Live the Dream" specialty license tag, created by the Dream Foundation became a part of Florida's statutes in 2004... signed into law by Governor Jeb Bush, and is the first and only of its kind in the nation. The Dream Foundation, Inc exist to not only use the proceeds generated from the sales of the license tag to invest in communities around the state to address issues of health and poverty via the Sickle Cell Association of Florida, March of Dimes, Florida Association of Healthy Start Coalitions; but also as a source to help provide leaders data driven information to assist with alleviating poverty, closing the health gap, and be impactful in the nations plight to address systemic challenges that affect marginalized communities, largely due to poverty. By doing so, we aim to change the lives of children and families through our community based programs and services, beginning with those provided by proceeds from the "Live The Dream" license plate.
